‘Penis enlargement case becomes a police matter’

Well, that’s from the headline of a report out of Iceland.  The reason it became ‘a police matter’ was that it involved a medical procedure that was done by someone who was not a licensed professional. To quote from the body of the report:

A man in his fifties who underwent a procedure in which hyaluronic acid was injected into his penis at a beauty clinic in Hafnarfjörður ended up in the emergency department at Landspítali due to an infection and complications related to the treatment.

The case was briefly on the desk of the Directorate of Health, but it did not investigate it because the matter did not involve a licensed healthcare professional.

However, the office referred the case to the Capital Area Police, who are now investigating.
